Respond to National Policy Forum

There are a number of ways to contribute to Labour’s policies, including getting elected in Labour’s internal elections as a representative on the National Policy Forum (NPF) and/or submitting evidence to the NPF as part of its annual cycle. At present anyone can submit evidence, including outside organisations.

In relation to standing for election as an NPF representative, the elections are held every two years and the most recent elections took place in 2025. See our “Support our candidates in Labour internal ballots” page for updates, including the next call for nominations. To get on to the ballot, you will need to be nominated by a minimum number of Constituency Labour Parties (CLPs). Once candidates are confirmed, all members in each region are eligible to vote for their regional representatives.

LABOUR POLICY

The NPF has recently published its agreed summary of policy recommendations for 2025. These recommendations are published every July, ahead of ratification at the National Conference in September. However submissions are still being accepted and will be rolled over to the next cycle. You can find further information here.

You can expect to see some of the 2025 policy recommendations reflected in the government’s programme in the coming years. If a general election takes place before the next NPF report, these recommendations are likely to feature in Labour’s manifesto.
